 The Pilgrims Tour? would take you from Delhi to the temples
of the Garhwal Himalayas.
 The
tour continues northwest to Gangotri and Yamnotri, where
the Himalaya?s snows melt to create the sources of the
Ganga and Yamuna, India?s two major
rivers.
The
trail includes visits to the temples of Lord Shiva and
Lord Vishnu at Kedarnath and Badrinath. These two
religious shrines have been the destination of pilgrims
for centuries.
Visits to Kedarnath and Badrinath could be
co-coordinated with Chopta (3000mts.) and the trek to
Deoria-tal (1181mts.), a beautiful mountain lake, and
Tungnath (3810mts.). The height of the Shiva temple at
Kedarnath is 3584mts. and the temple of Lord Vishnu at
Badrinath is 3833 mts.
The
richly carved and decorated temples are of legendary
origin. Kedarnath overlooks the beautiful Mandakini
valley and is dominated by the eternal snow of the
Himalayas to the north. |
